Wooden Crooks

I receive a few enquiries each year for a crook not made of horn, sometimes this is a present for a vegetarian or just someone that doesn’t need the strength of a rams horn crook and just enjoys a beautiful bit of wood to take out on the dog walk.

These are the only two wooden crooks I currently have, both at £75 each, one in Walnut and the other in Beech (I think!)

All sticks are made from natural products and will show slight imperfections adding to their charm and individuality.

All crooks can be shortened and once sold will be fitted with a brass ferrule before shipping. UK postage and packaging is £20 and Europe £50 – I do not send crooks to USA or Australia

Payment by cash, BACS or cheque.

This wonderful walnut crook with hazel shank is a real eye catcher. Sturdy at approximately 52″ its a dream to hold. A bargain at just £75. SOLD – CR

Second up we have the Beech crook on lovely hazel shank. At just over 53″ its a beautiful crook and lighter than the walnut one. A perfect his and hers pair to put by the front door ready for those country walks? A fine crook for just £75.

A trio of wooden crooks available for Christmas! (December 2018)

I have a trio of beautiful wooden crooks here ready for Christmas! All lovingly handmade and ready for the perfect country walk. Whilst the wooden crooks are strong I would not suggest wrestling a sheep with one and would recommend a rams horn crook for such purposes – see previous post!  As with all natural products there will be natural imperfections which do add to the charm.

All crooks will come fitted with a brass ferrule and ready to use. UK P&P is £20 for up to three sticks/crooks so why not treat your loved ones.

Payment by BACS please or a 3% charge can be added if you prefer to pay by Paypal.

Walnut leg cleek

I was very pleased with this walnut leg cleek as its one of the first I made to a good standard.  I bought a blank walnut head from my supplier which was roughly shaped and needed several hours of sanding and finishing with boiled linseed oil. I was so please with the stick I did not want to get rid of it. However its still in the family as my future mother in law is the proud owner of it and its enjoying a life walking the hills of Wiltshire!
