I have a wonderful selection of simple wooden thumb sticks in preparation for Christmas, perfect for a country walk to the pub and back!

Most of these handles are made from a block of spalted beech, a couple in London plane and a yew.

All sticks are made from natural products and will show slight imperfections adding to their charm and individuality.

All sticks can be shortened and once sold will be fitted with a brass ferrule before shipping. UK postage and packaging is £20 and Europe £50 – I do not send to USA or Australia

Cream Rams Horn Crooks

It’s that time of the year when I ramp up my sticks and crooks in preparation for the Christmas market. Sticks and crooks make great Christmas presents and something a loved one will have for years to come. Over the next few weeks I will be adding all of my stock to my website.

Next up we have 3 lovely cream welsh mountain rams horn crooks. All have plenty of character and very strong ready for a good day on the farm or in the field.

Ram Oct A

First up we have this beautiful crook with lovely reddish brown shank and nice bit of horn. At just under 52″ in length its good looking dependable strong crook for just £165.00 SOLD BB

Ram Oct B

Second up we have this little character filled crook, smaller than the others with plenty of blushing on the horn (from where the ram has been scrapping!). Measuring approximately 52″ is a perfect companion to work with on the farm or take for a walk. A bargain at £150.00! RESERVED MD

Last up we have this stunner measuring approx 53.5″ in length, it has a hidden bit of interest of a black streak on the inside on the nose to around the arch of the handle (tricky to see in a profile pic but you can just about make it out if you zoom in a bit!) .

Beautiful Handmade Thumb Sticks For Sale

I have a small selection of beautifully crafted thumb sticks in native British woods, two in red deer antler and one in the less native buffalo horn.

All handmade and may contain natural imperfections as expected with wood. These sticks make the perfect companion for a walk in the countryside, hill walking, or taking the dog out.

UK P&P £20 for up to three sticks.

BACS payment is my preferred method of payment but can accept payment via Paypal with a 3% fee.

Last of the wooden crooks before Christmas!

Looking for a lovely shepherds crook for walking and country pursuits to give to your loved one this Christmas, I have some fabulous wooden crooks here for sale. Sorry they are not photographed so elegantly as normal but the images in the gallery will give you a good idea. All crooks are photographed on both sides as usual and are approx 51″-53″ in length. All crooks can be cut to length and a ferrule fitted before posting. I would not use these to wrestle livestock with for fear of damaging the handle.

Looking for a shepherds crook in rams horn or wood for a Christmas present or just a gift for yourself? Look no further, below is a large selection of rams horn crooks from Swaledale rams, Welsh Mountain Rams, Wood and Buffalo (not quite as native to the UK!) horn. Rams horn crooks from £125 to £175 and are priced marked accordingly. Buffalo horn crooks are from £80 to £135. Wooden crooks are just £75 each, and market sticks are all £100 each Postage to the UK is £15 for up to three sticks. Overseas postage is £40 to Europe and £60 to USA All sticks are approx. 51″-53″ in height and all have hazel shanks or chestnut shanks. These are great quality and perfect for walking in the countryside, the forthcoming shooting season and looking after your flock! Please note the red or pinkish areas is called blushing and a natural part of the crook material. It is from where the ram has been fighting!! Shepherds Crooks For Sale January 2014

With lambing season on its way it is time to post a few more shepherds crooks. I only have 5 at present so be quick and reserve your stick now.

Crook E – an attractive and unusually shaped crook with a small dip toward the back of the head. This is a lovely stick with the dip being most comfortable to rest the thumb! Measuring approx 52″ in length it is a lovely lightweight stick with pretty hazel shank. SOLD

Crook D – a good and strong traditionally shaped crook ready for this seasons lambing or sheep dog trails! Measuring approx 52.5″ in length it is a lovely lightweight stick with hazel shank. £135.00

Crook C – A sturdy traditionally made shepherds crook on a medium weight hazel shank. Measuring approx 51.5″ in length it is a lovely mid weight stick with pretty hazel shank. £135.00

Crook B – One for the purist. This stick has lovely contrast between the cream horn and the chocolate coloured hazel. You cannot eat it but it’s a stunner! Measuring approx 51.5″ in length it is a fabulous mid-heavy weight stick with a solid shank. SOLD
