Beautiful Handmade Thumb Sticks For Sale

I have a small selection of beautifully crafted thumb sticks in native British woods, two in red deer antler and one in the less native buffalo horn.

All handmade and may contain natural imperfections as expected with wood. These sticks make the perfect companion for a walk in the countryside, hill walking, or taking the dog out.

UK P&P £20 for up to three sticks.

BACS payment is my preferred method of payment but can accept payment via Paypal with a 3% fee.

These are the last of the crooks in rams horn and wood (see previous posts) and thumb sticks for 2017 so to avoid any disappointment please contact me at lordscountrysticks@gmail.com to secure your stick.

Handmade Wooden Crooks For Sale!

If you are after a wooden crook please read on!

All lovingly handmade from mainly British native wood and ready for the perfect country walk. Whilst the wooden crooks are strong I would not suggest wrestling a sheep with one and would recommend a rams horn crook for such purposes. As with all natural products there will be natural imperfections which do add to the charm.

All crooks will come fitted with a brass ferrule and ready to use. UK P&P is £20 for up to three sticks/crooks so why not treat the family.

New Crooks in stock ready for Christmas!!!

It’s that time of the year again when I have a few crooks and other sticks to sell. These sticks are hand made using the finest Welsh mountain ram horn and quality seasoned hazel shanks. These are some of the best I have seen in terms of the quality of the horn and the lovely mottled shanks that feature on so many of them.

As with any natural product some may show natural imperfections in the horn or wood but just add to the unique charm of these beautiful crooks. The red areas present in the horn on some of the crooks is called blushing and a sign of a ram that enjoyed a good fight!

All crooks can be shortened and once sold will be fitted with a brass ferrule before shipping. UK postage and packaging is £20 and Europe £50  – I do not send crooks to USA or Australia

Rams Horn Nov Crook I – As I pick these up to write a desription I can see merits in each and every crook. They really are such lovely things to hold and use. I’ve had a crook for several years and still love to pick it up out of the stick rack in the hall and take it out on walks. They age beautifully and looked after well will last a lifetime. I digress …. This wonderful crook has a darker hazel shank, more chocolate than some of the others which gives lovely contrast to the cream rams horn handle. A wider nose to the handle than standard but a real looker, ready to tend those sheep or hang the cartridge bag over. Very nice at approx 52″ in length. it’s a beauty! £225 SOLD LYNN

 

Rams Horn Nov Crook J – Another stunning piece of rams horn, interestingly a split character, on one side of the horn there is barely a mark and on the other side are the scars (blushing) from the fights this ram has got himself involved in. Possibly for that special someone in your life! Rams Horn Nov Crook L – A darker combination than some of the others, possibly the marmite of the bunch, you will either love it or hate it! This shank is chestnut rather than hazel so will be a little springier. Plenty of character, nice colours going on in the horn with a tale to tell. Shepherds Crooks For Sale – Christmas stock 2016 has arrived!!!

It’s that time of the year again when I get an influx of enquiries for stick and crooks for Christmas. Well, I’m pleased to say I have a great selection of crooks in rams horn, buffalo horn and lovely burr wood here for sale. As always each crooks has its own description beneath it. All sticks can be shortened if needed and will come with a brass ferrule fitted. These are natural products so will have natural imperfections. All crooks are extremely strong and the horn ones are suitable to work with. Personally I feel the wooden ones are too weak for catching sheep with and more suitable for leisurely countryside pursuits.

Looking for a shepherds crook in rams horn or wood for a Christmas present or just a gift for yourself?  Look no further, below is a large selection of rams horn crooks from Swaledale rams, Welsh Mountain Rams, Wood and Buffalo (not quite as native to the UK!) horn. Rams horn crooks from £125 to £175 and are priced marked accordingly.  Buffalo horn crooks are from £80 to £135.  Wooden crooks are just £75 each,  and market sticks are all £100 each Postage to the UK is £15 for up to three sticks. Overseas postage is £40 to Europe and £60 to USA All sticks are approx. 51″-53″ in height and all have hazel shanks or chestnut shanks.  These are great quality and perfect for walking in the countryside, the forthcoming shooting season and looking after your flock! Please note the red or pinkish areas is called blushing and a natural part of the crook material. It is from where the ram has been fighting!!
